Day Visits

We welcome day visits to the farm during the summer market season (mid-May to Thanksgiving weekend) on Fridays between 4 and 6pm. We will gladly give you a tour of the farm and gardens, as well as advance selection of the week’s harvest ahead of market. Please contact us for directions to the farm.

Longer Stays

If you are interested in spending some time helping out with farm work and other projects, we would be happy to consider your application. We can accept a limited number of guests through the warmer months of the year (May to October). A minimum stay of 2 weeks is preferred. Such guests are expected to put in approximately 25 hours per week, and in exchange will receive meals and a guest cabin to sleep in, if available. Campsites are also available.

We can accept occasional visitors during the off-season, however as we aren’t currently equipped with a winterized sleeping space for guests and have low labour needs during that time, summertime visits are preferred. Please be prepared to make your own arrangements for local accommodation during the off-season (for example, Carleton Motel & Cabins in Bridgetown).

To apply: Please send us a message, providing a brief description of yourself, what interests you about the community, and any skills or experience you have that you can contribute.

Community membership is a major life-long commitment – like entering into a family. The process of becoming a full community member begins organically with us getting to know you, and vice versa. We ask that you spend one full year living on the farm to find out if you are a good fit for the community, and if the community is a good fit for you.

The cost to become a full member is the value of one share based on current share price (currently somewhere between $40k and $50k), plus the cost to build your own home on a one-acre lot of your choice.

To begin the process: Please tell us your story, including your background, what elicited your interest in Snow Lake Keep, a bit about your goals and your dreams, and a description of your skills and experience that could help complement the community. We look forward to hearing from you.
